Leo and Nick have a number of bookshelves in their room. This is Nick’s bookshelf:

And this is their shared bookshelf:

But this is their favourite bookshelf:
Yes, it looks like carpet – that’s because it is. We tidied it for the photo. Usually it looks like this:

It is a very useful bookshelf because it doubles as a wardrobe. We call it the “floor-drobe”.
Here is a selection of books from the carpet bookshelf. Do you recognise any that you've also read?

Leo and Nick say they know where everything is.
We hope you enjoyed a peek at some of Leo and Nick’s books.
This week, Leo recommends Monster Blood Tattoo by D.M. Cornish and Nick recommends Behemoth by Scott Westerfeld (if you've already read Leviathan.)
A great selection of books and thanks for the recommendations - my kids are always looking for something new to read. We have custom made "floor-robes" in our house too - apparently they're more efficient then putting things on shelves, hangers etc. Enjoying the blog.

Susie
It is good to see Leo is reading one of the 10 books he borrowed from the Library on Wednesday! I loved Leviathan too, Nick. It was recommended to me by Nicole Deanes who is the Australian coordinator of KLQ. I think "floor-robes" are standard fitout in any house with children. At least in Nick and Leo's house they serve a dual purpose!!

I think Leo and Nick have their priorities right. I am all for more reading and less tidying! Very glad they are representing Australia in the KLQ. Keep up the good work guys.

Our Thursday book club at school really enjoyed reading about your floor drobe Nick and Leo. We are going to share are favourite books next week and will share some of our floor drobe books here next week.
ReplyDeleteits much easier to use "floor-robes" then just book shelves! and it makes it easier then getting all the books on one shelf especially when I borrow a hole Library of books!
ReplyDeleteI think that Leo and Nicks book shelf is very creative and it would be cool to have a bookshelf like that.
ReplyDeleteThe carpet is a great place to keep books (unless you have a pet that chews them, of course).
